Heidi J. Musseranand
Advisory Council Member
As a C-level Executive, Heidi has spent over 30 years leading and advising businesses on designing new operating & engagement models to drive digital Transformation and achieve enterprise Agility. Her passion is ‘managing the soft side of technology’ © - through the adoption of fundamentally different ways of working, thinking and being. Heidi’s core belief is that building resilient and sustainable infrastructure (organizational structures and governance models) that can withstand rapidly and dynamically changing market conditions - due to extreme disruption, technology and business model innovation, changes in customer preferences, and new sources of competition - will play an integral role in determining the winners and losers in this next economic revolution. Indeed, rapidly adapting to constant change may be the single greatest competitive advantage in the 21st century.
Her experience spans multiple industries, including healthcare, financial services, software, and technology consulting and she‘s delivered extraordinary results in five different business models—public sector, private/owner led, publicly traded, not-for-profit, and member association—by leading innovative, transformational, customer-centric change. Heidi has successfully served as a Chief Product Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Information Officer.
Most recently, Heidi served as the senior delivery executive for a Fortune 10 global organization, successfully driving their product driven organization transformation from strategy through execution, including co-creating the Agile Transformation Office reference architecture.
Before joining LeadingAgile as an EVP/Principal Consultant, Heidi served as Division CIO for USAA which included accountability for >$200M operating budget and execution of $250M technology portfolio, leveraging a global execution model (300+ staff and 1,000+ 3PL), and managed services contracts in excess of $50M.
Prior to that, Heidi served as USAA’s Vice President, IT Shared Services, where she led the delivery of the following enterprise shared services and capabilities that made the business of IT better for USAA and its members: IT Strategy & Planning, IT Governance, Risk & Compliance, IT Business & Workforce Strategy & Management, Software Engineering Operations, CCR Management, QA, IT PMO, and the Agile Center of Excellence. As Chief Agilist for USAA’s global enterprise Agile Transformation, Heidi drove the adoption of Agile principles and practices, resulting in improving value delivery by >50% to <80 days, while reducing the cost of quality by over 50%. She also developed an industry leading strategy for USAA’s DevOps journey, which set the foundation for USAA becoming a world-class digital enterprise.
